Stars & Stripes X Boutique Spotlight

Stars & Stripes X Boutique Spotlight

The fourth of July is this weekend-ish and everyone is ready to be a LAKE BABE. This year in particular I feel it has come quicker than ever before and Summer in general, ugh before you know it all our sunshine will be bottled up and the leaves will be falling! Ok thats depressing BUT Independence Day really is one of the best holidays since it falls in Summer and usually spent cruising on a boat with people ready to partayyyy and enjoy a mini vacay. With all that though is a deeper meaningful reason on why we rep our red, white and blue. I love recognizing the importance of this holiday and the true honor behind it. I don't know about y'all but every time I see an American flag I always get goosebumps, like always. Even just driving down the highway the other day a construction crew was working on the roads and had one in their equipment flying high and proud. Our freedom is something I will never take for granted and knowing how we are so lucky to live in the USA.

Here are five fun facts that you may not have known about the Star Spangled Banner!

1.) The original edition can be easily identified by the misprint “A Pariotic Song” in its

     subtitle. (ummmm.... thats embarrassing).
2.) The right-wing ice cream alternative to Ben & Jerry’s is called Star Spangled Ice Cream.
3.) The first sporting event to hear “The Star-Spangled Banner” was a baseball game in
     1862 in Brooklyn, New York.
4.) The national Anthem actually has four verses (who knew.... we only ever sing one)!
5.) It was written as a poem and later turned into a song... which many still say is very
difficult to nail the first time.

Now, as for the cute stars and stripes that we get to wear and be festive, I'm sharing some of my favorite affordable finds from three boutiques I wanted to let y'all know about.

RiffRaff is so adorable, if you don't know about them already you have to check them out because you have been missing out, trust me. They carry all kinds of brands and prices and honestly i love them because they have so much TEXAS pride. This Texas girl loves anything with my state name on it (:

I found out about Pamela's boutique which is based out of Montgomery, AL (physical store and online) from a shirt I saw that said #DogMom and I was like I NEED THAT SHIRT. So... I got it!! Unfortunately they are sold out of that tee at the moment and I don't think they will be restocking but I will keep an eye out for y'all.

Lastly, ThirtyMoon Boutique is a new online retailer based out of Texas. She is just getting started and has lots of colorful pieces. Show her some love!

Rachel Parcell Review

Rachel Parcell Review

Okay lets be real.... who doesn't love Rachel Parcell? I mean come on! I have three of her clothing line pieces now so I wanted to share my looks and thoughts on all of them. I love the fact that RP creates classic pieces that are modernized while being modest yet still flirty. First, I will say they do fit true to size. Thats always something people want to know when trying out a new brand, me too of course. I have broad shoulders myself so I am in a SMALL in all of these pieces below and I even did try an extra small with my first order but my reach when I extended my arms out was just too tight for my liking. I really love all her pieces and didn't know what to expect material wise but I must say I am a happy girl. Her fabrics feel like quality and are detailed with pretty gold zippers! Versatility is so important when I am buying clothes especially since I am temporarily in Alaska working for the Summer, I was like hmmmm do I even have 'work' clothes anymore... but I have at least three now with these ha! They are the perfect mix for work, date night, errand running, and brunch eating. I am excited too see RP launch more clothes and continue to grow her brand. Everything you see in these pics will be linked at the bottom of the page!

Okay so in a few pics here I have the Azalea Ruffle Top on and tucked into my favorite new skirt! This look is seriously adorable for really just about anything. I would even feel comfortable enough for the length of this skirt to be very office appropriate (Im 5'4'' for reference). This shirt in particular is a bright white with a very subtle texture on the material and a gold zipper on the back side. It is also fully lined, hallelujah!

In the pics below I also made sure to get some looks of the shirt untucked and it still looks fabulous. I really want to get it in pink as well because the fit and length are very perfect for me. Also, this skirt first so good and the color is just inviting Summer in, I really do love it.

Can we talk about how chic this dress is !! From the color, length, fabric feel and the little belt. Right when I ordered mine in Caramel RP came out with the Navy and I have been eyeing it ever since. It mixes the longer length with still full on fashion mode. This dress has really been given the most suiting name too... the Everyday Dress. I can't think of a single social event you couldn't wear this which makes it very attractive in my closet! I am excited to pair it with like a thicker belt as well, and for short girls like myself you can pull up the fabric a little and scrunch it with the belt to make it a tad shorter.

I want Daisy print everything right now. This is one of the cutest tops ever because of the lace detailing and super bright colors. I am wearing a small so I would say it is TTS. This paired with a denim skirt would be the cutest and some chuck taylor's.... mmm getting ideas as I write myself. I am always in the mood to be comfortable seriously, so happy all of RP's clothes are just that.

I have been buying so much RED lately and I have never before... I am still trying to figure out why I am so into it now. I have always felt that brunettes look so much better in red than blondes... which I still believe is true but if you are TAN it looks so good regardless your hair color! Depending on the shade it can be so sexy, spicy and HOTT especially for Summer!  Ive rounded up some items that are perfect for any occasion you have coming up. Ruffles, gingham, cold shoulder, off the shoulder, embroidery, and florals... something for everyone. I also have a few red things I picked up recently that I will be sharing VIA instagram soon, woooo!
